What exactly is the "Leaps and Bounds Amputee Support Group"?
This group is about building community and support for adult amputees and their families. We have a casual gathering once a month to connect, answer questions, exchange ideas, celebrate victories, overcome struggles, set goals and foster motivation. All age groups are welcome. Our group has participants from young adults to seniors.
This group is not equipped to provide medical, professional, legal advice, or financial assistance.
What types of topics do you discuss?
Topics include (but not limited to): Mobility challenges, weather and terrain factors, adaptive vehicles, adaptive sports, prosthetic devices, new innovations, recovery from surgeries, where to find support, travel tips, etc.
Who can attend a meeting?
Anyone who wants to receive or provide support. This could be an amputee themselves, a family member, a friend, etc..
